Evan Evans (1958-2016)
Evan Evans is a club legend. He was a Life Member of St Mary’s Salesian, and the club games record holder with 470 games. He was a Senior Premiership Player (1993), Reserves Premiership Player (1979, 2000), Senior Coach (1998), Reserves Best and Fairest (1995, 1996, 2002), Reserves Captain (1991, 1992, 1995, 1996, 2001) and Reserves Coach (1996-97).
Evo was a ‘heart and soul’ contributor to the club he loved. On Saturdays he would of course be supporting his two sons Nathan and Jake who carry on the family tradition on the field. On Thursday nights he would be leading the experts in the ‘experts corner’ as they tossed around the news of week. He was a former Committee Member, a foundation Gold Saint Member and a regular at the Gold Saints lunches.
