It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of one of our great past players and club Life Member, Geoff Trenerry.
We invite you to leave your tribute to Geoff below. Funeral details are also below.
Geoff played 308 games for St Mary’s and was club captain in 1970 and Reserves Captain in 1975.
Wearing the famous No 5 guernsey, ‘Stork’ was a tough and skillful rover and half forward and one of the best players in his era of A Grade Football. He was named as one of three St Mary’s players in the 1969 ESCFA Representative team, alongside team mates Alan Martello and Ron Wilson.
Geoff played in the 1966 and 1969 A Grade Runners-Up teams, and the 1962 Reserves Runners-Up team. As a true club-man, he was Neil Le Lievre’s coaches runner in the 1978 and 1979 A Grade Premiership teams.
Geoff also served the club with distinction off the field, and was club treasurer from 1964-1970.
Geoff was a heart and soul St Mary’s person, and made many very welcome appearances in recent years at Past Player gatherings.
The St Mary’s Salesian AFC Committee, Players, Life Members, Supporters and Past Players extend our sincere condolences to Geoff’s family.
