St Mary's Salesian AFC History
November 2007
The St Mary's AFC and Salesian OCAFC are delighted to announce that they have agreed on merging the two clubs. The new club will be known as St Mary's Salesian Amateur Football Club and will play in the D2 division of the VAFA in the 2008 Season. It is the clubs intention to field a side in the Club 18's competition in a division to be agreed with the VAFA executive.

The merger provides benefits to both clubs; Salesian has secured a home base and facilities at Ferndale Park after the College ground was deemed unfit for football. St Mary's have secured a link to a college which will provide a recruitment base for years to come. This merger establishes a strong base to develop junior teams in the years to come.

Both clubs would like to acknowledge the overwhelming support of the clubs players, members, the Salesian College and VAFA administration during the negotiation process and thank all parties for their contribution.
