2011 GOLD SAINTS REPORT
The Gold Saints group had a great 2011 helped along
by the new rooms and the support I received from the
fellow committee members in the reduction of the membership
fee. As stated in some earlier correspondence I have
seen the Gold Saints group work really well over the
years and in other years not so well. It was my aim
this year to improve Gold Saints generally, providing
value for money and quality day out. It was also my
aim to get at least 50 paid up members for 2011. Happily
I can report that we had 58 Gold Saint members on
the books for 2011.
Both Gold Saint functions were very well attended
with approximately 50 members and guests at each
luncheon. I received only positive feedback about
the quality of the meals and the guest speaker Ian
Dicker was fantastic and really added to the day.
It was good to see a growing number of ex Salesian
players supporting the Gold Saints and I look forward
to their number increasing next year.
With 2012 approaching fast, the club is aiming
to have over 80 Gold Saints on its books. This however
cannot be done by one person alone. The club needs
your support to recruit more Gold Saints. We all
know someone who was involved at some stage and
with life's changes has moved away from the club
for various reasons. A Gold Saints membership offers
them an easy way to stay involved.
There was much to like about being a Gold Saint member
in 2011 and there will be again in 2012, particularly
now I know I will have your support. At $100.00 per
membership it represents great value for money.
2012 will see a new Gold Saints membership board which
will be displayed in the clubrooms.

I would like to thank all current Gold Saint’s

thank the committee for their support and also Simon
Sutherland who was active recruiting ex Salesian
players.
