SEASON 2015 AT ST MARY'S SALESIAN
SAINTS TOO SLICK FOR PANTHERS
For the third successive week, three SMS teams registered wins in their respective matches on Saturday. At Turner Road Reserve, Highett, St. Marys Salesian proved too good for an inaccurate Old Mentonians winning by 48 points. SMS Reserves won easily over cellar dweller Old Mentonians who they held goalless and beat by 168 points. Meanwhile, St. Marys Salesian Threes had to work hard but finished the better to overcome a plucky Collegians by 9 points at Harry Trott Oval, Albert Park. > Match Reports > Ladder
Rd 6: SAINTS OUTLAST TWO BLUES
For the second week in succession, three SMS sides recorded victories in their respective matches on Saturday. After a good start, St. Marys Salesian outlasted a 'never say die' Prahran Assumption to win by 10 points in a quality encounter at Ferndale Park, Glen Iris. SMS Reserves played four even quarters of team football to beat a determined Prahran Assumption by 44 points and remain undefeated to date. Rd 5: SAINTS FIRE OVER FRIARS
All three SMS teams registered wins at the weekend. St. Marys Salesian played a classic last quarter to record a sensational 'come from behind' victory over Whitefriars Old Collegians by 10 points in an absolute thriller at Whitefriars College. SMS Reserves played efficient football to easily account for an understrength Whitefriars Old Collegians by 112 points. St. Marys Salesian Threes did enough to beat an improving Therry Penola by 13 points in a tight encounter at John Pascoe Fawkner Oval. > Match Reports > Saints TV > Ladder
Rd 4: MONDERS DOMINATE SAINTS
Ormond played four quarters of high quality football to outclass St. Marys Salesian by 69 points at Ferndale Park, Glen Iris. SMS Reserves won every quarter to register a comfortable victory over highly regarded Ormond by 49 points. PEGS produced a fine last quarter comeback to overcome St. Marys Salesian Threes by 2 points in an absolute thriller. > Match Reports
Rd 3 2015: BULLANTS BITE SAINTS
In the ANZAC Day match, Bulleen Templestowe began well and played aggressive football to easily account for St. Marys Salesian by 49 points at 'The Taj,' Bulleen. SMS Reserves broke away early and were too talented for a hard working Bulleen Templestowe winning by 47 points. Monash Blues finished the better to beat a disappointing St. Marys Salesian Threes by 20 points in a tight encounter at Frearson Oval (Monash University), Clayton. > Match Reports

Alan Martello presented Club Life Memberships to Joan Malcolm and Kath Leman at our 1st Gold Saints Lunch for 2015. AFL Legend Michael Tuck will be a Guest Speaker at our 1st Gold Saints lunch on this Saturday April 18, and will be joined by Willie Rioli Snr. Michael Tuck played 426 games for Hawthorn (1972-91), including 6 Premierships and is a valued supporter of St Mary's Salesian as our Club Patron. VALE BARRY TOWNSEND
It is with great sadness that we learn of the recent passing of Barry Townsend. 'Crash' played 235 games for St Mary's and was captain coach of the 1964 Reserves Premiership side. He was a joint winner of the 1964 ESCFA A Grade Reserves Best and Fairest, with teammate Alan Skinner. VALE LES MOSS (1934-2014)
It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of club legend Les Moss. He played 154 games for St Mary's and captained the 1960 Premiership side.
