In the Triple-Header at Ferndale Park, Glen Iris - After an even beginning, St. Marys Salesian produced a quality second half to overcome NOB's/St. Pats by 69 points. Following the unveiling of last season's premiership flag, SMS Reserves were inaccurate early but took control after half-time to register a win over a determined NOB's/St. Pats by 51 points. FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BOLD
Every St Mary's player from 1962-2007, and every St Mary's Salesian player from 2008-2015 has worn the club motto on their chest: Audentis Fortuna iuvat - Fortune favours the bold. Some of the club's finest Latin scholars, including Mr Geoff Lane, Mr Greg Baum and Mr Ron Redding, along with visiting scholar Mr Bill Goodenough, and scribe Peter Leman looked further into the meaning of the club motto at one of their regular meetings at The Halo Bar. > Click here to find out more
Rd 1 2015: SAINTS AMBUSH BUSHRANGERS
St. Marys Salesian made an excellent start to the VAFA 2015 season with victories to all three sides (and two players kicking 9 goals). At Doncaster Reserve, East Doncaster, St. Marys Salesian proved far too good for Yarra Valley winning by 93 points. SMS Reserves played power football to comprehensively account for Yarra Valley by 11 goals. In a tight contest, St. Marys Salesian Threes led all day and hung on to win over Old Ivanhoe in a 'close-one' by 4 points at Chelsworth Park No. 2 Oval, Ivanhoe. > Match Report & Saints TV
