SEASON 2015 AT ST MARY'S SALESIAN
Rd 14: HUNGRY SAINTS PRESSURE BEATS BEARS
St. Marys Salesian displayed their very best form to beat top side Kew by 4 points in a high quality game at Victoria Park, Kew. It was the Saints first win over a team above them on the ladder this season. Kew Reserves played a super second term to set-up an impressive win over SMS by 26 points. It was the Saints second loss in the past three matches. Parkdale Vultures Thirds played the better footy to provide a boilover and defeat St. Marys Salesian by 26 points at Walter Galt Reserve, Parkdale. > Match Reports
Rd 13: WHITEFRIARS THRASH DISAPPOINTING SAINTS
Whitefriars played terrific pressure football to thrash a disappointing St. Marys Salesian by 91 points at Ferndale Park, Glen Iris. It was the Saints heaviest loss for three years. SMS Reserves had a good victory over an improved Whitefriars by 60 points to return to the winning list. St Marys Salesian Threes provided a four quarter performance to beat Therry Penola comfortably by 79 points. It was their best footy for some time. > Match Reports
Rd 12: MONDERS TOO SOLID FOR SAINTS
Ormond played solid footy in the first three quarters to set-up an easy win over a determined St. Marys Salesian by 50 points at E.E. Gunn Reserve, Ormond. Ormond Reserves played terrific wet weather football to completely outplay SMS and register an 81 point victory thereby taking top place on the ladder. The very humbling loss was the first by SMS Reserves since Round 5 in 2014 and ends a winning sequence of 26 games. St. Marys Salesian Threes had the bye > Match Reports
Rd11: SAINTS OUTGUN BUSHRANGERS
St. Marys Salesian played well early to set up a comfortable win over Yarra Valley by 43 points at Ferndale Park, Glen Iris. SMS Reserves gained the ascendancy early and did enough to outclass Yarra Valley by 63 points. St. Marys Salesian Threes won on forfeit when fixtured opponent Old Ivanhoe was unable to field a team for the early match. Meanwhile, the 'Club Ball' held at Lincoln of Toorak was a resounding success with some 135 people enjoying a fabulous Saturday evening. > Match Reports

FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE
Every St Mary's player from 1962-2007, and every St Mary's Salesian player from 2008-2015 has worn the club motto on their chest: Audentis Fortuna iuvat - Fortune favours the brave. Some of the club's finest Latin scholars, including Mr Geoff Lane, Mr Greg Baum and Mr Ron Redding, along with visiting scholar Mr Bill Goodenough, and scribe Peter Leman looked further into the meaning of the club motto at one of their regular meetings at The Halo Bar. > Click here to find out more
