DAVID MALCOLM: CLUB PRESIDENT 2012
It is with great pleasure that we can announce that David Malcolm has accepted the position of Club President for Season 2012. David continues a very proud family tradition: his grandfather George Malcolm was club president in the years 1936-1938 & 1946-56, and father Don Malcolm was club president in the years 1974-77 & 1987-88.

2011 LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Congratulations to Mark Purcell who has been awarded Life Membership of St Mary's Salesian AFC. Purce has played 167 games for the club, and was a member of the 2009 Grand Final Team. He is a current serving Committeee Member and continues as joint Reserves coach in 2012. Mark is the 65th Life Member of our club.

2011 LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Congratulations to Norbert Graetzer who has been awarded Life Membership of St Mary's Salesian AFC. He was Vice-President of St Mary's from 2005-2007, Senior Vice-President of St Mary's Salesian in 2008, and Club President from 2009-2011. Norbert is the 64th Life Member of our club.

THE LOVE OF THE GAME

Greg Baum is one of Australia's finest sports writers. He is also Nick Baum's dad and has followed the fortunes of St Mary's Salesian during the 2011 season. He has honoured the club with an article called The Love of the Game, published in the Saturday Age on August 27.

"There's no compromise at grassroots level, and it's not just a game. Six goals behind at quarter-time on the first day of the season, the Saints stormed home to win by a goal. Walking off their little suburban ground, they resembled a herd of snorting bulls. Everything seemed possible then. But it would be weeks before they won again. ...."

A big thank you from all at the club must go to VicHealth for their generous grant given to St. Mary’s Salesian. The money provided by VicHealth has allowed St. Mary’s Salesian to purchase much needed jumpers for our Under 19 team. The young SMS players are ecstatic with their new guernseys.
